Description
Sangría de Invierno con Granada is a cozy winter drink that combines red wine with pomegranate juice and seasonal fruits, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups red wine (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 apple, cored and diced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise (optional)
- 2 cups club soda or lemon-lime soda
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, pomegranate juice, brandy, and orange liqueur. Stir well to mix the ingredients.
- Add the pomegranate seeds, sliced orange, diced apple, cinnamon stick, and star anise (if using) to the pitcher.
- Refrigerate the sangría for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Just before serving, add the club soda or lemon-lime soda to the pitcher for a refreshing fizz. Stir gently to combine.
- Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangría over the ice. Garnish with additional fruit slices if desired.
Notes
- For a sweeter sangría, add a tablespoon of honey or agave syrup to the mixture before chilling.
- Feel free to substitute the fruits with seasonal options like pears or berries for a different flavor profile.
